Why don't they limit both sides' costs? Then there might not be all this protracted proceeding dragging on ad infinitum. I would certainly recommend that for divorce cases. The longer you take the less per hour you are paid. I'm all for that. The present system simply encourages litigators to spend more time on the job. It's like giving them a blank cheque.

The real problem is, what should the amount of the fixed fee be?
