These threads are always the same - a dichotomy of those who begrudge the changes in the profession (and probably society) and those who embrace them. Any slight lack of success by an ABS is celebrated by the former category as if it somehow validated their desperate wish for the world to remain as it always was. Of course, that won't be the case and their false hope is clearly misplaced. And for all the carping from the sidelines, it will be people like Holt and other pioneers in the market who take the profession into the new era. You may not like it but it doesn't make it any less real. We should also pause for a moment to appreciate that the acquired firm is a law firm with solicitors working in it just like us. It is demeaning of all of the profession to be so unnecessarily obnoxious about the venture.
