The CPS has to be satisfied that it is in the public interest to bring a prosecution. It would appear that the same standard does not apply to a case such as this, for how can it have been thought to be in the public interest to pursue this man?

All I can say directly to Mr Hemmings is that, for what it is worth, none of your fellow professionals think any the worse of you for what you have done. Indeed if you will let me have your address I shall send you £20 towards your costs liability and would hope that 99 others do the same.
