Thank you, Martin. Yes, I do like the other countries of Europe and their nationals and I enjoy nothing more than a tour with my caravan chatting to the various peoples in their different lands. Well when I can make myself understood, I do! And that really is my point. Do we understand one another? I really don't think we do, in the sense that we get on. I have learned that 'se comprendre' and 's'entendre' are two very different words. We have really ever only 'co-operated' in the past when it has suited us to, usually militarily. Economically our interests are bound to be in competition with one another.

And the currency union will only ever work if there is a central interest rate setting body with one taxation system. As the author of "The Rotten Heart of Europe" predicted in the 1980s, without those we are heading towards the next European war.

I want us to leave. Those who talk about economies of scale delude themselves as much as amalgamating law firms do when they say the same. Enlargement of inefficiencies more like plus more room for underperforming partners to hide.
