Paul Bennett is spot on. This is a consenting relationship between lawyers and clients and if the latter don't feel they are getting value for money then they will go somewhere else that is cheaper. End of.

The headline "Top City firms stand accused of inhibiting access to justice by charging record fees" is plainly not correct. Access to justice would only be inhibited if these firms were the only option for consumers, but they are not. Those who can and will pay do. Those who can't go somewhere else.
