Anon 3.15pm. I am not outraged/shocked/scandalised as you suggest.

This is not the same argument as Claimant’s pursuing fraudulent claims. This is about solicitors who are flouting the rules. The article says that “the notice states there is concern about firms allowing third parties to cold-call potential clients, paying referral fees in breach of the 2013 ban and bringing claims without clients’ authority. In some extreme case, firms are believed to have brought claims without the knowledge of the named client claimant”.

If firms are flouting the rules then they should be brought to book, as if the behaviour is going on, it is just another stick with which to beat the vast majority of PI lawyers who play by the rules.
