It appears only the initial howler had reached or was known to the client. The consequent internal offfice shananigans demonstrate a woefully inappropriate strategy by a very anxious and inexperienced employee. While it presents a lack of moral fibre I do wonder at the calibre of the senior people around her. Why are they not saying 'Look if you have made a mistake tell us and we will deal with it.' Instead the unwritten narrative seems to be of someone, either blessed with bone-headed lack of subtlety or sadistic glee micro- managing the gaff to destruction.
