I am so angry with the Law Society and Bar Council allowing this to happen.

When I started off I was one of two people in the Bristol and Bath Area who knew anything of Housing and Welfare Law. The funding was proper funding (such that we could go to the Best known Barristers in the business (who often wrote very good snappy brief advice on for example Benefits or the cross over between this and Housing Law (take Sally Robertson from Cloisters who had at the time always written the Disability Handbook), but not massive fees. All the advice agencies turned to me and now they are all 'sponsored' in other ways minus the advice.

We knew this would happen if the LS/Bar C didn't get their arses in order / action and fight for this.

So what have they done?

And snapping at their heels because they are so complacent are the Accountants (who believe you me will suck up Probate like there is no tomorrow and the associated Estate Planning and Tax Planning).

How does that affect City Firms you may ask if you are hanging on by your teeth there?

Next stop on the bus (after Probate), will be the internal constitution and regulation of Private Companies.

Watch this space.
