It seems trite, at least to this admittedly junior lawyer, that the lawyer, rather than simply blurting out the change in circumstance in court, would first discuss the same with the client, explain the ramifications and the relevant duties, and then proceed accordingly from there. If the client objects, that might necessitate withdrawing from the case. If the client agrees, then go ahead and notify all concerned...

Am I wrong in seeing this as a fairly simple scenario?
