It is reassuring Mr Maloney that you agree that the referendum was not about handing power to the people, so many odd people seem to be suggesting that. One or two have even suggested that David Cameron's government said that they were leaving the decison to the people on an in-out referendum. I am so pleased you have scotched that nonsense at last. You are quite right, it would have been a ridiculous suggestion, much better to leave decisions like that to ministers.

You are also oddly correct about the turnip ghost of nationalism were it apllies to British nationalism. Do you think you might be able to convince Mr Trump and Mr Putin that their idea of nationalism is a fantasy? They do not seem to think so.
