Two thoughts to add to the comments below, most of which I agree with wholeheartedly:

1) Despite the Daily Mail's earnest attempts at rabble-rousing the Court has not said "You can't leave the EU despite the will of the people etc. etc." it has simply said "If you want to do it this is how you must do it". Politicians would prefer not to see it that way because if the Judges are correct (and they are) then it means if we end up not leaving after all the blame will fall squarely on politicians for being unable to carry a Parliamentary majority despite the self-same "will of the people"

2) Here is spectacularly illustrated yet another fundamental problem with a Lord Chancellor who is all politician and no lawyer: their public pronouncements will be motivated entirely by politics and will have nothing at all to do with preserving the rule of law
