I know a silk who happens to be black. This person has never been underprivileged. They were expensively educated and have had an illustrious career, as evidenced by the almost indecently brief passage of time between call and elevation to silk. I have no idea whether they have aspirations to sit, but if they do, my question is this.

Will they be advantaged by their pigmentation, or disadvantaged by the price of their education?
