This is the same Mostyn LJ who was removed from a Court of Protection matter by Master of the Rolls, Dyson LJ for seeking to distinguish two cases, that were successfully appealed, because he disagreed with the test that he was required to go through when deciding a deprivation of liberty issue and wanted to essentially reverse the decision.

He seems to be somewhat of a loose cannon and a bit of a bandit; probably not the best judicial ally for the insurer lobbyists to align themselves with.
