Bakelite, Ian, Bakelite, where would we be, or at least have been, without Bakelite? For me their beers and cheese is their best advert, Orval in particular. And life would never have been quite the same in the 1960s and 1970s without the singing of Jacques Brel, although I would draw a veil over the Singing Nunn. Personally, I like Belgium very much and they have indeed suffered greatly. But let's bring in some balance and not fail to mention their treatment of the natives in the Congo. Don't take my word for it, read "Blood River". They were awful to the locals...as were all of the colonising powers and their nations' settlers mind you.

There's good and bad in every nation and our respective histories.
