I too enjoyed living in Belgium and have enjoyed visiting it since.
As well as its justly famed beers it also produces some very drinkable wine, although little is exported as most is drunk internally. Another advantage is its location - you can be in Paris or Amsterdam within a few hours.

David is quite right to mention its ugly colonial history ( ugly even by the standards of European imperialism) . However its contribution to painting and architecture can stand comparison with many larger nations ( although of course Belgium has only been a nation since 1830).
