Anon 14.12. I found the name but can't find the judgment. This is silly, it seems to be very important. LG or even LS please do something ASAP.

If your synopsis is right, then there is an absolute liability. Whatever the solicitor did and however many enquiries or safety checks he made, he's had it. That indeed is worrying. I suspect putting it all to the client and getting him to proceed, come what, wouldn't work either unless he got indendent advice to do so, which advice (full circle) would be negligent!

The solicitor becomes his client's insurer by default.

So I'm banking on there being more to this than meets the eye.
