Some commentary that the LS and SRA have been ineffective: we don't know, although from the Government's general approach to things I wouldn't be surprised to learn that both the LS and the SRA had been screaming in Truss's ear, with oodles of statistics and facts, which she blithely ignores with a 'whatever.'

We live in a period of 'alternative facts', so truth has become an elastic concept meaning, in essence 'what I choose to believe.'
