Well, at last, Scep Tick. From the start, I wondered why the judge felt he had no option but to unjustly and inhumanly imprison this woman, and the thought in my non-lawyer head was 'sine die'.
And in what way are judges 'disenfranchised'? Over the last several years they, inc in the Supreme Court where they have total immunity, seem to me to have become self-interested cowards rather than active defendants of Justice, and its primacy, where there is conflict, over Law.
If enough of them decided, without any need for a nod or a wink, to follow Scep's path, the chaos would force govt within a year, not ten, to take effective action, but it is significant that he is even more unrespecting (and probably more knowledgeable) of judges than I in considering that 'a judge with the balls and influence to declare it a breach of human rights' is such a rare creature.
