As a claimant lawyer, I support ABTA's efforts to crackdown on these mostly fraudulent claims. The claims companies and solicitors who invest in this area aren't interested in access to justice; instead, they want access to the hourly rate costs. In order to get these costs, they are encouraging people to bring dodgy claims that will make holidays more expensive for hardworking families. I also note that the A2J campaign has also spoken out against these claims.
