Anonymous @10:24 I have no doubt that you gave your client the exact and correct advice on how to execute a will, and if they chose to ignore that advice then what more could you be expected to do. The suggestion that you should have written back to ask if they had followed the instructions is preposterous. Should that apply to every will? Should that apply to deeds as well? Does your critic really believe that if you had written, then your fool of a client would have replied "It's a fair cop. I dun it all wrong". No they would not. They would, as would 99.9% of the population, backed their own position.
The present rules are clear, and as has been mentioned below, are there for a purpose.
