I dont think general conveyancing is suffering from endemic poor quality at all.
It is true that when one commences a matter that one's heart occasionally sinks when we recognises the conveyancing firm on the other side however generally speaking matters run smoothly as mostly parties are represented by conveyancers who know what they are doing.
The essence of residential conveyancing is to know what happens and what should happen whilst setting and controlling one's own client's expectations to keep the progress smooth and on-track. Co-operation from the other side in this endeavour is always welcome but sometimes, sadly, absent.
Specifically, however, there are instances of dealing with new-build transactions where the builder's conveyancer displays arrogance as to the law, inflexibility and intransigence in conflicting and immeasurable abundance and acts as if the only reality of worth is that of the builder eg Anon 1/8 @19.49's comments (very true) and the thumbs down annotations to it. How on earth can those comments be disliked??
