Anon 08.07. I agree with the need for dashcams and was discussing it a couple of months ago. I'm at a loss why the insurance industry has not teamed up with manufacturers to have them installed on all vehicles.

However, I think you are naïve in thinking that stamping out fraud or stopping the cash for crash scams will result in lower premiums. The insurers will just find some other thing as an excuse for pushing up premiums, like having to employ all the people they have put out of work by destroying the PI sector.
