Some observations:
1. It is almost impossible for a solicitor to answer/explain a complaint in a public forum as in doing so the solicitor is likely to breach the client's right to confidentiality - which the client retains, however mad, bad or unreasonable they or their complaint happens to be;
2. No PI firm quotes hourly rates to clients. A conditional fee agreement is offered on the basis of a percentage deduction from damages recovered. The better firms recover more damages for their clients and so whilst on the face of it they have a higher deduction - would you rather have 75% of £10,000 or 90% of £5000?
3. The SRA thinks multiple choice questions for its SQE are a good idea, yet you could ask 5 lawyers the same question, get 5 different answers, none of which was necessarily wrong.
