Come now, Anon II, you don't really consider these comments "bizarre" - you just happen to disagree with them. Your exaggerative choice of epithet is unfortunately all too characteristic of much Europhile commentary on this website since 23/6/16. Your namesake took issue with the word "looms" because it has connotations (he intimated them) which the writer or sub-editor of this article would have been highly unlikely to associate with any political development that he or she approved of. That is the point of the preceding remarks, which seems to have passed you by.
