I'm not convinced.

1. If the sauce is good for the goose now, it was good for the goose then. I'm not entirely sure what relevance the predecessor has, if your position is that Greenwood was tainted by his Iraq advice. Surely, criticism of that advice was never greater than at the time of his first appointment. You haven't explained why this was fatal to him this time, but not last time. I'm not with you on the 'continuity of British judge' hypothesis.

2. I don't doubt any of that, but I do question its relevance.
