Sorry, Mr Turner, but I'm not quite clear - why precisely will the UK "have to" obey "all" human rights "laws", whatever their provenance? Britain of course invented human rights and gave them to Europe and the world, so it's hardly likely that we are going to wantonly violate them, even when we no longer enjoy the stiff moral corseting of Brussels.

But I think you'll agree with me that a great many nations do in fact disregard those rights and don't seem to be unduly inconvenienced by the dread "sanctions" you mention. Why would Britain be any different, assuming (what seems unlikely) that we immediately degenerate into a third-world tyranny post-Brexit?

I should have said that this was "Realpolitik", wouldn't you?
