Does the same apply to Criminal solicitors when their client is prosecuted? Or those engaged in divorce or child proceedings? Or those representing billionaire oil and gas interests? Or those arguing over company disputes? Or what about those who represent Defendants in these same proceedings? Parties in all of those matters have been known to lie. In fact most court cases are needed so a judge can determine which party is lying. Why try to single out the one group of advocates for special treatment?

The criminal law already exists for those found to be involved. Claimant PI specialists are already punished when unwittingly caught up in a lie by being paid for work done. No other advocates bear this cost.

One would hope that the learned Judge will reflect that his comments are not based in logic and recant them at the earliest opportunity.
