Anon 12.37 how right you are. I deal primarily with the defence of credit hire and I can assure anyone reading this the levels of fraud involved in PI claims pale into insignificance in comparison. A huge perecentage of hire fraud cases involve hire not provided or hugely exaggerated, claimant's who do take hire are being told it is a 'courtesy car' with no idea they are entering into a credit hire agreement, the daily rates being charged are literally extortionate and the Courts simply aren't equipped to deal with the complex issues involved. Certainly not ones in the Liverpool area where certain solicitors who have a direct interest in a hire provider are allowed to run riot unchecked.
