The problem with the private insurers in the Paterson case was that they awaited until the conclusion of the criminal trial when he was found guilty, and they then voided the insurance cover on the basis that his actions were criminal.

This action alone by his insurers was abhorrent and an insult to all the innocent victims who were seen by Paterson in his private capacity. Insurers should not be allowed to weedle out of paying. Yet they do, and try to do it on a regular basis.

Disgusting.

And before I get downvoted by defendant and insurer readers alike, think about this - how would you feel if you were told that you or your family couldn't claim compensation for the trauma you had been through following botched, unnecessary and criminal surgery carried out by a surgeon with a god complex?
