I would not normally waste time responding to stuff like this. However, the some of the comments so far on this article cannot be allowed to pass without challenge.

Before sounding off, commentators should make themselves aware that Allen & Overy already has a substantial commitment to pro bono work. Go to http://www.allenovery.com/corporate-responsibility/probono-community/Pages/default.aspx for details. And the firm is not alone in this respect. Many of the largest commercial practices provide a similar service.

You may say that they could be doing more, but give some credit where it’s due.
