Radio 4 this morning was clueless as to the insolvency status, referring to it variously as 'liquidation' and 'administration', and assuming it would carry on business in the meantime. As lawyers know (but no-one at the BBC knew, nor the politicians commenting on 'Today') there is a world of difference between the two regimes. For clarity, Carillion's website states: "The Official Receiver has been appointed Liquidator of Carillion Plc and certain other companies in the group. "
