The evidence from the approach in the Republic of Ireland is that when you remove lawyers from the process the number of claims increases as there's no one to tell the deluded, the dishonest and the misguided that they're wrong.

Will the LIP have access to AskCUE, MID and Medco (and will they be obliged to use the same), will they have access to the MOJ Portal, will the CPR be reformed to allow expert's reports in SCT matters without the permission of the Court?

The number of claims will fall when people cannot navigate the system or afford to self fund.

How long is it going to be before the insurers are selling a product along the lines of 'you need this in case you're injured as a result of someone else's negligence as without your insurer paying for your solicitor you won't be able to make a claim, yours for £34.99 + IPT at the prevailing rate'.

That he's backing CMC's and not law firms speaks volumes: how long is it before the rogues (and I say this with a very straight face) get involved with the CMCs so as to exploit vulnerable claimant's and exploit the now largely defenseless insurers.
