A victory for UKI, which is to be commended. Lying liars should never benefit at the expense of "honest insurance policyholders" who stand to pay an additional £50/£60/£100*(delete as applicable) per year due to wanton abuse of the system.

However, considering the use of Face Book, Twitter, Linked In and Experian searches in order to facilitate this success, one has to consider the impact that GDPR will have on Insurers and their appointed representatives. It's only "open source intel" whilst it's in the public domain. The "Section 29" carve out will disappear in May and recent findings against Woodgate and Clark Loss Adjusters are potentially the tip of the iceberg. The ICO's own Counsel has forewarned that the Insurance Industry is not a "special case".
