If I go to a dinner where this sort of thing happens, but I don't do it myself and don't choose to leave, that is nothing to do with my employers.

As for NDAs they are essential when settling ET claims - otherwise if the claimant does not get a promotion or an appointment which s/h wants s/he can start a victimisation claim and allege that everyone in the business is fixed with knowledge of the previous claim which is a protected act. A claimant who wants to settle in good faith will agree to an NDA and a claimant who does want to agree to an NDA is not seeking to settle in good faith.
