Anon 15.51; I am indeed male. However, if it were the case that females had acted inappropriately towards male hosts, perhaps at a WI dinner (to exemplify an exclusively-female group), I would be saying the same. Would you?

Turning to your example, I am shocked that you would expect automatic regulatory investigation simply because you were in the ground at the time, with no proof or suggestion that you did anything wrong. Rather totalitarian for my taste.

However, I must ask how the SRA would come to investigate you without any accusation being made of your involvement? If you've done nothing wrong you will not be reporting yourself, you have no need to. If you have not been arrested or charged for the same reason, likewise.

I would say that the reaction has been incredulous more than 'hysterical' - I cannot accept any lawyer throwing out populist epithets because it seems like it might be the right thing to do. Asking for investigation for no apparent reason other than association with an event is exactly that.
