This is a positive move from the JLD to raise awareness of mental health within the legal profession. Unfortunately, the guidelines on how and where to access support are limited.
Having a legal colleague who has received two day training in mental health first aid, might be nice to have as a first point of support. However, in reality if someone has a psychological condition such as depression, panic disorder or stress related problem, then knowing where to access immediate, confidential support from a qualified psychological practitioner such as a CBT therapist would be a welcome addition to the guidelines.
