Mr Mossyou utterly miss all points here.A solicitor can agree a reasonable method of calculating and receiving their charges, as long as it is fair, reasonable and above all, transparent. The Solicitors Act then acts as a statutory safeguard to ensure that what is charged is indeed all of those things. What the present cases highlight is NOT whether the client has agreed to a success fee deduction from damages, but how the deduction is calculated, whether in fact it is calculated and the client notified at all.
