Responding to the last comment, a job share doesn’t mean the personal touch goes. Many clients may want one individual to deal with but that person cannot be available on their iphone 16 hours a day. That’s why many people leave the profession. However, we need to condition clients themselves to be a bit more realistic, something lawyers are not good at partly for fear of turning away business and partly because of the macho culture present in many law firms. Until the present generation of mainly men in their mid 50s upwards ceases to run law firms, that won’t change.
