Criminal barristers and solicitors are in the same boat when it comes to working long hours, during court breaks, and at nights and weekends. I sympathise with all my barrister and solicitor colleagues (as a solicitor advocate I have a foot in both camps). Then add being a partner in a law firm and trying to run a business on top of all that. But some of the contributors are right, when they say no one will do anything about this unless we do it ourselves. Sadly, it's all too late.
