In France there is dual representation on property transfers and it works perfectly well. What reason has the British government given for dropping the idea, other than the majority of commentators didn't like it? Presumably those were they who have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. But maybe it's too much to expect of the present government that they do what is right rather than what is popular!
