Wouldn't the majority of the electorate love to. Problem is that the utterly self-interested, hypocritical politicians, having necessarily given themselves immunity from a once-powerful monarchy, have maintained it against the citizens whose will - actually reduced to 'interests' - they claim to represent (whatever that means) and with whose money, in whatever quantity they decide, they pay themselves. They are the only people we effectively employ who can do what they like, regardless of our wishes, force us to pay, inc. while they find another job, then pay themselves a pension they decide on, from our money, assured in the knowledge that, even if their colleagues think they were incompetent, lazy etc, their successors will continue to slide our money into their pockets in the form of pension.
