I suspect its got more to do with the rental cost per square metre in London than the 'vibrancy' of or the 'quality' or 'modernity' of accomodation in Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds. It's a 'no brainer' to relocate to less expensive locations the elements of your practice that don't need to be in the capital. But I bet that all the major city firms will keep their 'shop windows' in the capital. If so, I doubt that this is really news!
