Well, I'm a lawyer and I can't for the life of me see what there is to forgive. Of course, I've the advantage of having reached an age where I can recall the violent outbursts of the radical left against Lord Denning's Court of Appeal. I can assure readers that the implications for the rule of law of some of those outbursts were quite as serious as anything in the contemporary Daily Mail. And in the background was the disturbing possibility that the Left might some day actually have the power to put them into practice, which is hardly the case with the Daily Mail. Yet those outbursts have done much better than to be "forgiven" - they have been forgotten!
