As a naive newly qualified, I know someone that gave a punter a fiver for breakfast (that due to an administration cock up in a firm had spent the night in the Crown Court custody (failure to answer bail - they knew the date to return for anyway but weren't expressly written to and told)).

Is this heinous conduct?

The very junior Barrister as well at the time knew that this was done. It was done openly in front of her but out of the actual Court (though in the building).

I wonder now.

I do know that whilst myriads of LIP's queue up in the Courts, and we have dance-y newly qualified LPC, No- Fail, 'Graduates' we are worrying about this sort of thing and now a goodly proportion of the truly decent ex officio Solicitors are uninsured and practising.

What a crappy mess by poor quality professional 'leaders'.....

Scruff.
