Too much of that going on. To be truly freelance as a sole trader is to be what HMRC call 'in business on your own account' or outside IR35 had they worked through a limited company PSC instead - to supply services or products. Any form of additional conformities or what is called direction and control or over working hours and other restrictions on working practices severely compromises that relationship that it can really not be deemed supplier and client anymore - just temp work if there is no longer term contract involved.
