@ Tom Appleby

I completely agree with you complacency warning.

I have had real concerns about the complacency of the British public (including myself) of late. Specifically, the executions of UK citizens overseas by drone strike without trial by peers and the, as it transpired, illegal invasion of Iraq leading to the deaths of untold numbers of civilians. Then when a GE rolls around, there is never any mention of holding those in power to account for their actions. While I understand drone strikes on citizens abroad, who have allegedly joined terror organisations, isn’t done lightly, I remember instances of this being done at the command of a government who couldn’t be trusted with tuition fees.

We’re now left with politicians like “BoJo”, who was pro-remain but voted leave to spite Cameron. And Corbyn, who was pro-leave, but now considering a change in position to gain favour in the popular vote. Our government is becoming more like the US election campaigns.

Britain lacks the people in politics to form an effective government, Brexit or no.
