Utter tosh. Have you ever tried litigating with these folk? A sea change is required. But not on the Claimant side of the fence. As for referral fees they are banned. There is nothing improper however in companies introducing cases so long as they comply with the ban and solicitors can pay whatever they like for such marketing. The SRA website provides clear advice on what is a referral and what is not. If the client contacts you eg. via a hotkey transfer and there is no data transfer which would otherwise enable you to formulate a claim, then it is not a referral. Like the insurance lobby these folk will not be happy until all claims are restricted to such an extent that no one bothers anymore.
