Funnily enough I am reviewing a case where my budget is far lower than the NHS's and they want to throw in additional experts that will have no feasible impact on the case. My contingencies allow for an extra £50k if they get what they want, against a claim worth maybe £12k - madness.

Ah hell, all claimant solicitors probably have a plethora of examples of bonkers practice. Like I suppose the NHS can point at dodgy costs claims.

I am all for the NHS to defend unmeritorious claims but sometimes the way they go about defending any claim is questionable.
