@ anon 13.44 "Depends who is trying to claim the high moral ground really"

No moral high ground being sought - simply trying to explain why the previous poster was trying to tar clin neg lawyers with the same dodgy brush as holiday sickness or NIHL claims.

Legitimate claims are being pursued against an Emanation of the State. Costs will be sought when successful. Negotiations to bills will occur. All would be avoided if the NHS were not negligent.

If the former poster was seriously suggesting that lawyers should only take on cases pro bono against the NHS, then they have no concept of how justice and business work together. Why shouldn't lawyers be paid for seeking justice from their clients?

I get it - the taxpayer pays. But I'd rather know that my taxes are funding justice, rather than the State preventing citizens from claiming against mistakes carried out by its hospitals.
