The Family Division should be actively seeking the opinions of the people who use its services regarding efficiency, privacy, outcomes etc. This should happen as a matter of course at the end of every case. The great criticism which is often heard is that the system is arranged for the benefit of lawyers (and that includes judges) rather than the clients who are forced to engage with it. Too often, judges, lawyers and legislators are out of touch and operating in their own little bubble world.
